Sportsmen’s Days County at Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery is scheduled for September 28-29, 2024.

The Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs with nearly 35 clubs and 10,000+ sportsmen and women we represent invite the general public to the 2024 Sportsmen’s Days at Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery on September 28th- 29th.   Sponsors of Sportsmen’s Day include, Onondaga County, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Bass Pro Shops, and the NRA Foundation.

 

The Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs annually holds Sportsmen’s Days in celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day.  National Hunting and Fishing Day focuses on raising public awareness about the importance of the wise use of natural resources, promoting wildlife conservation and outdoor sports.  On this day, many organizations hold fishing and hunting-related events that provide participants with an opportunity to experience traditional outdoor sports.

 

Participants at Sportsmen’s Days at Carpenter’s Brook will see demonstrations including: fishing, trapping, hunting, cooking, orienteering, birds of prey, fly tying, game calling, taxidermy, and more.

 

Participants will be able to experience many hands-on activities including: fly tying, fishing, canoeing, orienteering, trap shooting,  archery, including crossbows, air rifles, axe throwing and more.

 

We will have several of our member clubs providing information about their clubs and we will have vendors offering their wares and sharing their knowledge.  You can meet local Wildlife artist Tom Lenweaver.  Other vendors include Iron Skillet Seasonings, Runnings, Gooseman Calls, Marsh Mill Ranch,  and more.

 

New York State DEC, New York Sturgeon for Tomorrow, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and more, are scheduled to be there.
